CPD 2026: Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University Highlights the Role of Physiotherapy in Bali’s Tourism Industry

Denpasar, September 6, 2026 – The Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University successfully organized the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) 2026 program under the theme “Bali Tourism Physiotherapy” on September 5–6, 2026.

The program was held as part of the Department’s commitment to strengthening professional development and expanding knowledge in physiotherapy, particularly in response to the growing healthcare needs within the tourism sector. CPD 2026 brought together academics and practitioners to discuss the role of physiotherapy in wellness, preventive tourism, occupational health, sports tourism, and tourism-related healthcare services.

On the first day, September 5, 2026, the seminar focused on the theme “Evidence-Based Physiotherapy in Wellness and Preventive Tourism.” The sessions explored a variety of topics, including exercise as an intervention and preventive strategy in the wellness and tourism industry, physical activity prescription for healthy lifestyle tourism, physiotherapy management in wellness and sports tourism, as well as professional experiences in providing physiotherapy services within tourism areas.

The speakers on the first day were dr. Tanjung Subrata, M.Repro, Gede Parta Kinandana, S.Ft., Ftr., M.Fis., C-OMPT, I Putu Yudi Pramana Putra, S.Ft., Ftr., M.Fis, and Komang Embun Dini Hari, S.Kes., Ftr., M.Fis.

The second day, September 6, 2026, carried the theme “Maintaining Health and Productivity Among Tourism Workers.” The discussions focused on maintaining the health and productivity of tourism workers through ergonomic approaches, prevention and management of work-related musculoskeletal disorders, yoga and wellness approaches, and the implementation of physiotherapy services within the hotel and tourism industry.

The speakers on the second day included Prof. Dr. dr. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, M.Kes, Anak Agung Gede Eka Septian Utama, S.Ft., Ftr., M.Fis, Ftr. I Gede Eka Juli Prasana, S.Ft., M.Fis., CDNP, and Ni Kadek Ira Maharani Putri, S.Ft., Ftr.

The first day of the program was held at the Prof. dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Meeting Room, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, while the second day took place at the dr. A.A. Made Djelantik Theater, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.

Through CPD 2026, the Department of Physiotherapy aims to broaden participants’ perspectives on the development and potential contribution of physiotherapy within the tourism sector. The program also served as a platform for knowledge exchange among academics, practitioners, students, and healthcare professionals in promoting evidence-based physiotherapy services that are relevant to the characteristics and needs of Bali’s tourism industry.

The CPD 2026 “Bali Tourism Physiotherapy” program is expected to encourage further innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development in physiotherapy, particularly in supporting the health, productivity, and quality of life of individuals and workers involved in the tourism sector.
