Clinical Educator and Preceptor Training Strengthens the Quality of Physiotherapy Clinical Education at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University

Denpasar, May 23–24, 2026 – The Physiotherapy Professional Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held Clinical Educator (CE) and Preceptor Training on May 23–24, 2026. This activity aimed to improve the competency of clinical educators and preceptors in supporting the provision of quality physiotherapy professional education, in accordance with national and international standards.

The two-day training featured experienced speakers, Wahyuni, S.Ft., M.Kes., and Nur Basuki, M.Physio., Ph.D. The material presented covered various important aspects of clinical education, from the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) and Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-based curriculum, teaching hospital standards, quality and safety education, and Indonesian physiotherapist competency standards.

On the second day, participants received training on preceptorship learning planning, teaching-learning strategies in preceptorship, and assessment and evaluation in clinical education. In addition to theory sessions, participants also participated in practical activities and discussions designed to enhance their abilities in mentoring students during clinical practice.

As part of the activity evaluation, participants took pre- and post-tests facilitated by APTIFI and developed follow-up plans for implementing the training findings at their respective institutions and practice sites.

Through this training, the Physiotherapy Professional Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, hopes to strengthen the role of Clinical Educators and Preceptors in creating an effective, safe, and competency-oriented clinical learning environment for graduates. This activity also demonstrates the institution's commitment to improving the quality of physiotherapy professional education and producing competent physiotherapists who are ready to face the challenges of future healthcare.
