General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and
Technology, based on undergraduate level education (academic) and professional
level education, but at Udayana University, the position is one with
undergraduate study programs under the name of the Physiotherapy Undergraduate
Study Program and the Professional Study Program Physiotherapy, Faculty of
Medicine, Udayana University, which is one with undergraduate study programs
under the name of the Physiotherapy Undergraduate Study Program and the
Professional Study Program At the beginning, the application for physiotherapy
education included undergraduate and professional education, but along the way,
the licenses for undergraduate and professional study programs did not coincide
(separately).
The Directorate General of Higher Education issued the permit for
the Physiotherapy Undergraduate Study Program No. 53/D/O/2010 on May 21, 2010,
and the permit for professional education was realized by the Directorate
General of Higher Education, Decree of the Ministry of Research and Technology
No. 212/KPT/I/2016 on June 28, 2016. After the Doctor Education Study Program,
the Public Health Science Study Program, the Nursing Science Study Program, and
the Psychology Study Program, the undergraduate physiotherapy study program and
the physiotherapy professional study program at the Faculty of Medicine UNUD
are the 5th study program at the Faculty of Medicine UNUD.
In accordance with Kepmenkes 376/2007, the professional study
program was established to satisfy the demands of physiotherapists,
particularly in Indonesia, and to address the problem of the necessity for
professional physiotherapists in this case to be autonomous and independent. As
one of the health professions, physiotherapists must carry out their tasks and
functions in a professional, effective, and efficient manner. This is due to
the fact that physiotherapists' patients/clients totally entrust their mobility
and function abnormalities to receive quality and responsible physiotherapy
treatments. The Physiotherapy Profession Study Program at Unud's Faculty of
Medicine has a lot of potential to grow and develop quickly in response to the
advancement of science and technology (Science and Technology) as well as the
community's demand for the best health services.
